Cairo has a hot desert climate: long, very hot and sunny summers and short, mild winters with very little rain. Expect low rainfall year-round, abundant sunshine and strong UV from spring through early autumn. For sightseeing and comfortable temperatures, the shoulder months (October–April) are the most popular; if you don’t mind heat and want lower prices, June–August brings peak temperatures and bright, dry days.
