Chania, on the northwest coast of Crete, has a classic Mediterranean climate: mild, relatively wet winters and long, sunny, warm summers. Winters (Nov–Feb) bring most of the annual rainfall and brisk winds, while late spring and early autumn are excellent for sightseeing with pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds. For beach-focused trips, June–September is the clear peak: lots of sun, very few rainy days and reliably warm days and evenings.
